Fellowship | Pain Medicine

Didactics

Subspecialty Conferences: Conferences covering didactic material outlined in the Pain Medicine curriculum are presented each week. These conferences are typically given by the Multidisciplinary Pain Faculty. The Pain Fellows are also expected to lecture as part of their overall training experience. Guest faculty from other disciplines also lecture (e.g. orofacial pain, pediatric pain) when appropriate to cover curricular topics.   Fellows are also invited to attend regularly scheduled resident didactic presentations in the Department of Anesthesiology.

Case Discussion Conferences: Cases are presented on a quarterly basis by the pain fellows in collaboration with a multidisciplinary pain faculty member. Cases of interest are chosen as they become available over the year of patient care in which the fellow is involved.

Journal Club: Journal articles are presented on a quarterly basis by the pain fellows in collaboration with one of the pain faculty. Papers of interest are chosen from journals in fellow library or found by accessing journal information by literature search on line.  Fellows also have the opportunity to attend regularly scheduled journal club presentations in the Department of Anesthesiology.
