Visiting Students

The Fourth-Year Visiting Student Program offers eligible medical students at other universities an opportunity to complete clinical clerkships in the Department of Anesthesiology. **There are no more open spots for the 2017-2018 academic year. Availability will be updated for the 2018-2019 in May or June of 2018.

To be eligible to participate in our program you must:

  • Be a fourth-year medical student in good standing at the time of your rotation.
  • Be enrolled in a school that is accredited by the United States Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Be current on all of your immunizations, including measles, mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis and Tuberculosis.
  • You may do no more than three visiting rotations at the University of Kentucky.
  • All rotations are four weeks long.  There are no exceptions.
  • All rotations take place during the scheduled rotation dates for the fourth-year class at the University of Kentucky.

All applications must be submitted in VSAS, once you’ve applied through VSAS your eligibility will be determined by our visiting student office before it gets passed on to our department.
